What can you use a business loan for?

Our loans are open to businesses in any sector, for almost any business need, including:

  • Working capital and cash flow
  • Buying stock, equipment or other assets
  • Expansion, refurbishments and fit-outs
  • Hiring staff or growing your payroll
  • Technology and infrastructure upgrades
  • Other investment to grow your business

Who can apply?

To apply for a Flurish business loan, your business must:

  • Be a limited company registered with the Companies Registration Office (CRO) in the Republic of Ireland
  • Have been actively trading for at least two years
  • Have filed financial accounts
  • Show enough cash flow to meet the loan repayments comfortably
  • Be tax compliant, with an up-to-date tax clearance certificate

We lend to limited companies only, so sole traders and partnerships cannot apply at the moment.

What documents do you need?

  • Your last two years of filed financial accounts
  • Six months of business bank statements, or consent to share them securely through Open Banking
  • A current tax clearance certificate

When you register, we also ask for your business name and CRO number, your contact details and some financial information about the loan you need.

How to apply

  1. Apply online. Complete the application in a few minutes with basic details about your business and how much you need.
  2. Upload your documents. Share your accounts, bank statements (or connect through Open Banking) and tax clearance certificate.
  3. Assessment. Our team reviews your application. If we need more information, we will get in touch straight away.
  4. Loan offer. If you are approved, you receive a loan offer setting out the amount, term, rate and fees.
  5. Get funded. Once you accept the offer and meet its conditions, the money is transferred to your business account.

How much does a business loan cost?

Your interest rate depends on the amount you borrow, the term and your business’s financial profile. Every cost is set out clearly in your loan offer before you sign anything:

  • A once-off origination fee, deducted from the loan amount when it is paid out
  • A monthly servicing fee, where applicable
  • A late payment fee, only if a repayment is missed

There is no fee to register or to apply.

How to improve your chances of approval

  • File your annual accounts with the CRO on time and keep your management accounts up to date.
  • Keep your tax affairs in order so your tax clearance certificate stays current.
  • Keep business banking separate from personal spending.
  • Be clear about what the loan is for and how the repayments fit your cash flow.
  • Have your documents ready before you apply. It is the quickest route to a decision.

Bank or non-bank lender?

Irish SMEs can borrow from banks, credit unions, State-supported schemes and non-bank lenders like Flurish. Each has its place:

  • Banks can offer low rates to well-established businesses, but applications often take weeks, and a no can come late in the process.
  • Credit unions and State-supported schemes, such as those available through the SBCI, Microfinance Ireland or your Local Enterprise Office, can be good value, but loan sizes, eligibility and timelines vary by scheme.
  • Non-bank lenders like Flurish focus on speed and flexibility: a short online application, a decision in as little as 24 hours and a team you can talk to.

If your bank has said no, or cannot move quickly enough, a non-bank business loan can help you act on an opportunity while it is still there.
